In a unanimous vote, the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) Executive Committee has elected Justice Minister Dr. Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe, PC as the new Party Chairman.
The vote followed the resignation of former President Maithripala Sirisena as the SLFP Chairman.
In addition, the Executive Committee has also unanimously approved the appointment of attorney Keerthi Udawatta as the acting General Secretary replacing MP Sarathi Dushmantha Mithrapala.
