Former Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) councillor of Sri Jayawardenapura Kotte Municipal Council, Gamage Densil Padmasiri, was arrested by the Welikada Police for indecent exposure to a group of people including the principal of a famous girls school in Nawala, Rajagiriya.
He was arrested based on a complaint made by the principal.
The Welikada Police said that this incident took place when both parties came to the police station on June 23 to investigate a complaint that said the arrested councillor had been making offensive remarks on social media targeting the principal.
A mother of one of the students of the school who was at the police station along with the principal has told the media that the suspect committed this wrongful act in the police premises on July 23.
