SLPP member remanded over the moonstone theft

Kundasale Pradeshiya Sabha member of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna – Saliya Perera and another have been remanded after surrendering to court over the theft of the historic moonstone (Sandagala) from the  Kundasale Udamaluwa Archaeological Reserve.

Four persons have been arrested so far and police say several more arrests are to take place.

The moonstone had been stolen on Dec. 14 and the CID is conducting investigations.
