A meeting of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) parliamentary group, chaired by the party founder – Basil Rajapaksa is to be held at the party office in Nelum Mawatha, Battaramulla today (March 20).
According to internal sources, the matter of the SLPP’s future presidential candidate is to be taken up at the meeting. However, the official nomination will be declared only after the presidential election is announced.
It is also said that different groups are also preparing to tip current President Ranil Wickramasinghe, Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena and businessman Dhammika Perera as the presidential candidate.
