Softlogic avoids paying for LPL Colombo team!

Published

on

New York based SKKY company has come forward to sponsor the Colombo team in Lanka Premier League (LPL) 2023.

The Colombo team led by Angelo Mathew was sponsored by Softlogic last year. However, they have failed to pay the sponsorship funds forcing LPL co-organizer IPG to leave Softlogic behind and make arrangements to find a new sponsor.

Softlogic has only paid for the players’ clothes and bags, Sri Lanka Mirror learns.

Accordingly, IPG has paid the players and settled other fees.

Two stages of the LPL have been held so far and IPG has paid for several teams since original sponsors have neglected to pay the team players in both tournaments.

It was reported that some owners had defaulted on the payments of the players as well as the payments for accomodations.

Ashok Pathirage is the Chairman of Softlogic and he is also the Chairman of Sri Lanka Airlines.
