Solar project launched in Batticaloa
A 2 MW Ground Mount Solar Project was inaugurated in Kommathurai, Batticaloa morning (March 11).
According to the Minister of Power – Kanchana Wijesekera, the project under the 90 MW CEB tendering process was constructed and commissioned by BackBay Solar Private Ltd.
BackBay Solar is managed by Sino Lanka Power Gen, a leader in commercial rooftop solar installations with approximately 50MW of projects completed or undergoing development. Sino Lanka Power Gen meanwhile is a subsidiary of Orbital Energy, a renewable energy developer with large-scale utility projects in Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and India.
