In preparation for the upcoming presidential election, a comprehensive security arrangement has been established across the island.
Police Spokesperson DIG & Attorney-at-Law Nihal Thalduwa has announced that approximately 63,000 police officers have been assigned to election duties to ensure a smooth and secure voting process.
In addition to the police force, the Ministry of Defence has confirmed tri forces’ personnel have been deployed at key security locations and additional personnel are on standby to maintain order and safety as necessary.
The Ministry of Defence has assured the public that all essential security measures have been implemented to facilitate a free and fair election.
