Sports Minister Roshan Ranasinghe has issued an extraordinary gazette suspending the registration of the Sri Lanka Automobile Sports (SLAS) with immediate effect.
According to the gazette, a seven-member committee headed by Mahesh Gammanpila will be appointed in the interim to continue the activities.
It is further stated in the gazette that the Director General of the Sports Development Department is empowered to call the election of the SLAS and to supervise it.
