Sri Lanka becomes the team with most ODI defeats!

Sri Lanka has set a world record as the cricket team with the most defeats in One-Day International (ODI) cricket.

Yesterday’s defeat to India is Sri Lanka’s 437th defeat, while the Indian team has lost 436 matches so far.

Sri Lanka has played 880 matches and the winning percentage is 47 percent.

In the past, Sri Lanka was known as a team that dominated ODI matches in the world. Following the retirement of prominent players, Sri Lanka suffered heavy defeats in the ODI field.

Pakistan’s team is at number three, which has 419 defeats. Apart from these, West Indies (402) and Zimbabwe (390) are in fourth and fifth place respectively.

4 SL players in ICC men’s ODI team of 2024

Four Sri Lankan players have been included in the ICC men’s ODI team of 2024.

Sri Lankan players Pathum Nissanka, Kusal Mendis, Charith Asalanka and Wanindu Hasaranga have been named in this manner.

Also, Charith Asalanka has been named as the captain while Kusal Mendis has been named as the wicket keeper of the team.

2 including Salochana Gamage granted bail

Two persons including former Western Provincial Councillor – Salochana Gamage, who were arrested while allegedly accepting a bribe, have been granted bail by the Colombo Magistrate’s Court today (24).

Each suspect was granted bail, subject to a cash bail of Rs. 25,000, two sureties of Rs. 500,000 each, and an overseas travel ban. 

Colombo Chief Magistrate Thanuja Lakmali also ordered that the guarantors must be close relatives of the two suspects.
