The funeral of Atamasthanadipathi Most Venerable Dr. Pallegama Siriniwasa Nayaka Thera will be held with full State-sponsorship, the government said.
The President has appointed North Central Province Governor Maheepala Herath and Buddhasasana, and Religious and Cultural Affairs Minister Vidura Wickramanayaka to coordinate arrangements for the full state-sponsored funeral of the Thera.
The prelate passed away last night (18) while receiving treatment at a private hospital in Colombo.
