Police have arrested a 55-year-old man in connection with the murder of a 63-year-old woman at a private hospital in Trincomalee town. The victim, the wife of a doctor currently overseas, was found early this morning on the hospital’s third floor with stab wounds.
Initial investigations indicate that the suspect, her brother-in-law who also resided on the third floor, attacked her as she was heading to her room. A motive has yet to be determined. The body remains at the scene pending a magisterial inquiry, and Trincomalee Police are conducting further investigations.
