A 32-year-old man from Angoda has been arrested in connection with the murder of a shop owner in Ratmalana on August 21.
The suspect was arrested last evening (06) by the officers of the Mt.Lavinia Crime Investigation Division on charges of aiding and abetting the killing of the shop owner. He was killed by two men who arrived on a motorcycle.
The emission test certificate of the motorcycle used in the murder as well as some tools used to change the engine number and chassis number of the motorcycle were found in the suspect’s possession.
He is scheduled to be produced in the Mt. Lavinia Magistrate’s Court today (07) and the Mt. Lavinia Police is conducting further investigations.
