Three Railway workers who were suspended for allegedly assaulting two tourists on a Colombo – Badulla train , have been reinstated.
They have been reinstated subject to further disciplinary action after preliminary investigations.
According to reports, these tourists had reportedly travelled in the first-class compartment with second-class tickets.
Accordingly, it is reported that the two tourists were allegedly assaulted by the employees of the Nawalapitiya railway station and pulled out of the train.
Police are conducting further investigations into the incident.
