Teachers’ unions across the islandwide are to hold protests and demonstrations in front of schools today (27).
According to Mr. Joseph Stalin, General Secretary of Ceylon Teachers Union, teachers will protest in front of the school premises after school time ends at 1.30 pm today.
During a protest in the Pelawatta area in Battaramulla on Oct. 24th, police had fired tear gas and water cannons, resulting in several people being injured.
