Ceylon Teachers’ Union (CTU) General Secretary Joseph Stalin has called on the newly formed Anura Kumara Dissanayake-led government to address long-standing salary anomalies affecting teachers and principals.
Stalin emphasized that this issue, which dates back to the Ranil Wickremesinghe administration, needs immediate attention as part of the government’s broader efforts to stabilize the country.
Stalin warned that if the salary issue is not resolved in a timely manner, teachers and principals will be compelled to take action, as they played a key role in supporting the National People’s Power (NPP) during the election.
He added that government employees are under significant financial strain, and the new government must prioritize their concerns.
