Officers from the Narcotics Control Unit at Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) arrested a 33-year-old female passenger from Thailand carrying around 5kg of Crystal Methamphetamine, or “Ice,” concealed in food packages.
The suspect arrived from Kuala Lumpur via Singapore on Singapore Airlines flight SQ468 at 11:55 p.m. last night. The seized narcotics have an estimated street value of Rs. 100 million.
Sri Lanka Customs and the Police Narcotics Bureau (PNB) are conducting further investigations.
