Thieves stole laptop of country manager at the Indian visa centre

The laptop of the country manager at the Indian visa application centre located at the Philip Gunawardena Mawatha, Thummulla, has been stolen last week, the ‘Lankadeepa’ reports, quoting the police.

Three persons in a trishaw had broken through the gates and into the building where the country manager’s office had been located on the third floor, the news report adds.

It further notes that the thieves have also stolen a DVR and an internet hub. However, investigations have revealed that they had not taken four more laptops, an iphone and cash worth Rs. 03 million.

The visa application centre, which was closed following the incident, was reopened today (20).
