A three-wheeler travelling through Gampola city caught on fire near the hospital.
A family (parents and children) from Millagahamula has been travelling in the vehicle.
The fire erupted when the vehicle was moving forward about 50 meters after pumping fuel from a filling station. Although the people tried to put out the fire, the three-wheeler was completely destroyed.
It has been difficult to put out the fire since there is no fire fighting unit in the Gampola Municipality, it was reported.
It was also reported that about 5 three-wheelers have caught fire along this road in the last few months alone.
