Three-wheeler fares will not be changed despite the reduction in fuel prices, the All Island Threewheeler Drivers’ Association said.
Speaking at a news conference held this morning (1), its Chairman Lalith Dharmasena said that reducing the petrol price by Rs.7 per litre was not enough.
“The Rs.7 reduction was not a relief but a discomfort. This only works in favour of those who have money. Even if we give money, we are not given the required amount of petrol. Therefore, reducing prices b Rs.7 has no impact. We want the government to release the required amount of petrol to the three-wheeler drivers. The fares will not be reduced for any reason,” he said.
