Train services disrupted on Upcountry Railway Line!

Train services were disrupted due to a train derailment between Watagoda and Thalawakele on the Upcountry Railway Line, the Railways Department said.

Deputy Railways Managing Director M. J. Idipolage said that the engine of the night mail train which was plying to Badulla was derailed due to a tree falling on the railway track.

Accordingly, train services have been limited up to Kotagala.

Mr. Idipolage said that buses have been deployed for the convenience of the passengers.  

Meanwhile, several trains on the Coastal Line have also been delayed due to a tree falling on the railway line between Kumburugamuwa and Weligama.
