The Sri Lanka Transport Board said directives have been issued to remove trees at risk of falling near depots and bus stops.
SLTB Chairman Lalith de Alwis said the decision was reached based on the recent incident of a tree falling on a bus in Colpetty.
He added that all depots have been issued directives to refrain from operating buses outside the instructions issued by Sri Lanka Police and the Disaster Management Units in flood-prone areas.
