The Department of Wildlife Conservation says that according to information, it is being revealed that the reason for the recent spate of Turtle deaths along the West coast is likely to be an underwater explosion.
Post mortem examinations done on the dead Turtles have revealed signs of this, the Department adds.
A relevant report has also been submitted to the court.
The Wildlife Department says that the explosion could have been explosives used for banned fishing practices.
A total of 25 Turtle carcasses have been piling up on the Western coast from Aug. 22.
