Two suspects have been arrested by the Police Special Task Force (STF) in connection with a shooting incident in Ahungalla.
The STF said one of the arrested suspects is a 41-year-old commando staff sergeant who has supplied the T56 firearm to carry out the murder.
The firearm is reported to be T56 – 2612651 belonging to the Second Commando Regiment, Kilinochchi Camp.
The suspect, who is a resident of Melsiripura, was arrested while on duty yesterday (16) and handed over to the Ahungalla Police for further investigation.
Meanwhile, the other suspect who assisted in the shooting is a 41-year-old resident of Meeghathenna.
He was arrested by the STF officials of Kokmaduwa Camp on October 15 at Talpadiwela, Meeghathenna.
