Two doctors attached to the Anuradhapura Hospital engaged in a brawl last evening (19) inside the Deputy Director’s office over an issue related to hospital duties.
The two doctors were identified as the Planning Director and the Gynaecologist of the hospital.
The Gynaecologist had complained to the DIG office in Anuradhapura that he was assaulted by the Planning Director and the Planning Director had complained to the Anuradhapura Police that he was assaulted by the Gynecologist.
After making the complaints, both doctors have admitted themselves to the Anuradhapura Hospital for treatment.
Police said the brawl and the heated argument that led to it were heard by the patients as well as the staff members in the hospital.
A senior police officer said that it was evident from the complaints made by the two that they have fought over a plan that was allegedly implemented without the consultation of the Gynecologist.
