Two new gecko species discovered
Two new gecko species have been found in Ampara-Ethagala Reserve and the Kurunegala-Galgiriya Reserve.
The species found in Ethagala Reserve has been named Jayaweera while the species found in Galgiriya Reserve has been named Nanayakkara.
The species were discovered by environmentalists Shanthasiri Jayaweera and Ananda Lal Nanayakkara.
It was reported that these geckos are endangered and their population is at a low level.
