The house of Horana Urban Council’s former mayor Vithanage Sirisoma has been damaged by an urban council employee under the influence of liquor and in the nude last night.
The suspect who arrived at the location at around 7 p.m. had damaged several items in the house and the gate with an iron rod. Former mayor’s daughter and sister had also sustained minor injuries.
The house owners alleged that the suspect had brutally assaulted their pet dog as well.
The suspect had been employed in the urban council by the former mayor during his tenure. The attack has been carried out as an act of revenge for an incident that occurred in the past.
Someone has recorded the suspect in question walking naked on the road and immediately after the incident, the Horana Police arrested the suspect.
The suspect is scheduled to be produced in the Horana Magistrate’s Court today (21).
