The Chairman and members of the University Grants Commission (UGC) have resigned from their positions.
The resignations were submitted on Monday (14) following a notification from the Presidential Secretariat requesting their departure.
Senior Prof. Sampath Amaratunga, UGC Chairman, Vice Chairman Senior Prof. Chandana P. Udawatte, and the commissioners tendered their resignations in writing to President Anura Kumara Dissanayake.
The members, appointed in 2020, were initially set to serve until March 2025.
