Singer Umara Sinhawansa, who faces allegations of distorting the national anthem, has been summoned to the Ministry of Public Administration and Home Affairs to obtain a statement.
It is reported that Umara has been informed to appear before the Ministry today (02).
Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena has informed the Secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration and Home Affairs – Mr. Ranjith Asoka to conduct an inquiry and submit a report on the allegations levelled against the singer.
Reports add that a statement is to be obtained from Sri Lanka Cricket as well.
