Unawatuna hotel owners highlight their woes

Published

Hotel owners in Unawatuna claim that due to issues such as electricity cuts, the tourism industry has suffered a severe setback compared to that in the last few years.

Speaking at a media conference yesterday (07) they said that they are facing challenges due to daily power cuts and inability to provide essential infrastructure for the tourism industry leading to difficulties in repaying bank loans they have taken.

When ‘Sri Lanka Mirror’ inquired of this from an industry expert, he said rather than trying to attract foreigners with lies, they might show more interest if this ‘Karuvale Jaramare’ package was marketed as a novel experience.
