Academic activities of all state universities are expected to be affected today (02) due to a planned strike by university lecturers.
The decision was taken by the State Service Trade Unions Alliance and the Federation of University Teachers’ Association (FUTA) during a discussion which took place yesterday (01) at the Open University of Sri Lanka in Nawala.
The strike will be held as a mark of protest against several matters, including the salary issue and slashing of funds granted to the state universities.
