The Uma Oya Hydro Power Plant will be able to add electricity to the national grid in a few months, the project company of the Plant has said.
Dr. Ali Vakili, Managing Director of the construction company – Farab has expressed this when the company representatives met with the Minister of Power and Energy yesterday (18).
They have said that unit 1 of Uma Oya Hydro Power Plant will be available for power generation to CEB from August 2023 while unit 2 will be available by September 2023.
Tweeting, Minister Kanchana WIjesekera said that 120 MW of hydro power will be added to the national grid once the project is completed.
