Minister of Agriculture Mahinda Amaraweera said that a bundle of urea fertilizer will be given to farmers for less than Rs.5,000 starting from the upcoming Maha Season.
He said that steps have been taken to provide all three types of fertilizers including mud and urea fertilizers to the farmers in the Maha Season after three cropping seasons.
Meanwhile, a ship with 22,500 metric tons of urea fertilizer arrived in Sri Lanka last weekend and the Ministry of Agriculture said that the fertilizer will be released to all Agrarian Services Centres from today (12).
