US Ambassador to Sri Lanka, Julie Chung, paid a courtesy visit to Defence Secretary (Retd) Air Vice Marshal Sampath Thuyacontha at the Defence Ministry in Sri Jayawardenapura, Kotte, on October 16.
During their cordial discussion, they focused on enhancing bilateral ties between the two nations, with the Defence Secretary expressing gratitude for the recent US donation of a new aircraft to the Sri Lanka Air Force.
He also emphasized his intent to work closely with the US.
The meeting concluded with an exchange of mementos, and key military officials from both sides were in attendance.
