The Colombo Permanent High Court at Bar today (05) rejected bail applications put forth by 25 defendants in relation to the 2019 Easter Sunday attacks case.

Among the 25 defendants is the chief suspect in the bombings Naufer Maulavi.

The group is charged with conspiring, carrying out the Easter attacks and manslaughter.

The order was issued by judges Damith Thotawatte, Amal Ranaraja and Nawarathne Marasinghe.

Announcing the decision judge Damith Thotawatte stated that granting bail to the group at this time is unsuitable and therefore rejected the bail request.

The case is due to be taken up once again on the 1st of February.
