Several spells of showers will occur in Western, Sabaragamuwa, Southern and North-western Provinces and in Kandy and Nuwara-Eliya Districts today (21), the Department of Meteorology said.
It said showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in Uva and Eastern Provinces and in Polonnaruwa and Mullaitivu Districts during the evening or night.
Meanwhile, the water levels of Maguru and Kuda Rivers, the tributaries of Kalu River, have risen.
The Irrigation Department said that the water levels of these rivers are continuing to rise and advised the people to be vigilant of rising water levels.
The announcement further said that the water level of the Nilwala River has risen in Panadugama and Thalagahagoda.
