The National Water Supply and Drainage Board (NWSDB) has announced an interruption in the water supply to Godagama, Homagama, Pannipitiya, Pelanwatta, Rukmalgama, and Mattegoda areas until further notice.
This disruption is due to significant damage to the transmission pipeline from the Kalatuwawa Treatment Plant.
Reports indicate that the pipeline burst near Godagama on High-Level Road following a vehicular accident. A car veered off the road and collided with the pipeline early this morning (17), causing severe damage.
Residents are advised to stay tuned for further updates from NWS&DB regarding the restoration of water supply.
