The Department of Meteorology has issued a statement today (March 27) indicating that showers or thundershowers will occur in some places in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Southern, Uva, and North Western provinces, as well as in the Mannar and Ampara districts, after around 1:00 p.m.
Heavy rainfall exceeding 75 mm may occur in some areas of the Sabaragamuwa, Southern, and Uva provinces, as well as in the Ampara district.
Light showers may occur in the morning in the Southern and Eastern coastal areas.
Misty conditions can be expected in the morning in some places in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, and Uva provinces, as well as in the Galle, Matara, and Kurunegala districts.
The Department of Meteorology urges the public to take necessary precautions to minimize the risks associated with temporary strong winds and lightning during thunderstorms.
