Three investigation teams, including the Weliweriya Police, are conducting investigations about the shooting that occurred in the Araliyagaha Junction area yesterday (March 13).
One individual was injured during the incident.
The injured individual has been admitted to Gampaha Hospital for treatment for gunshot wounds, said the police.
Police further stated that the shooting targeted a person traveling in a car and the victim sustained a gunshot wound to his left hand and reportedly drove himself to the hospital without stopping after the incident.
Initial investigations suspect that the shooting was carried out by two unidentified individuals on a motorcycle, using a pistol-type gun.
Currently, three police teams are conducting investigations into the incident.
