The Western Province has announced an increase in allocations for low-income earners under the Housing Development Fund.
According to an extraordinary gazette notification issued by Governor Marshal of the Air Force Roshan Goonetileke, the previous allocation for home construction has been raised from Rs. 200,000 to Rs. 300,000.
Additionally, the initiative offers Rs. 200,000 to assist with house completion.
Families with a monthly income not exceeding Rs. 15,000 will qualify for this program.
The increased funding will come into effect on July 1.
