Importers say that the wholesale prices of imported white sugar, wheat flour and dhal have been slashed.
According to them, the wholesale price of a while sugar kilo has been slashed from Rs. 300 to 265. The wholesale price of a wheat flour kilo has been dropped to Rs. 175 from Rs. 190 while a the wholesale price of a dhal kilo has been dropped to Rs, 285 from Rs. 350.
Noting that they have sufficient stocks, importers say that they will have no issue in providing an amply supply during the upcoming festive season.
However, it is noted that despite the slashing of wholesale prices, retail prices at certain places remain the same.
