A 35-year old female has been found murdered inside a residence in Pangiriwatta, Mirihana.
The deceased has been residing at the house in question and police say the victim had been assaulted with a sharp instrument.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the murder was committed by an individual who had previously served as a driver of the residence.
Mirihana Police is conducting further investigations to arrest the suspect.
