A 25-year-old woman from Dediyagala in Bangama was seriously injured in a shooting incident last night (28).
The victim, a mother of two, was admitted to the Matara General Hospital for treatment.
It was revealed that the shooting was carried out by the victim’s sister’s husband due to a family dispute.
The Akuressa Police have arrested the suspect along with the firearm this morning (29).
The arrested is a 38-year-old resident of Lenama in Akuressa, and he is scheduled to be produced in the Matara Magistrate’s Court today (29).
