A woman who was sexually harassed in a bus travelling from Colombo to Awissawella had fallen off the bus and died.
The victim was identified as a 61-year-old resident of Maradankadawala who worked as a security officer in a private company in Colombo.
On April 10, the woman fell from the bus and was admitted to the Colombo National Hospital in a critical condition. She passed away on April 18.
According to the statements obtained from several people including the conductor of the bus, it was revealed that she fell from the bus and died.
It has also been revealed that she fell from the bus when she tried to get away from a drunken man who was trying to sexually harass her.
The Homagama Police is conducting further investigations in this regard.
