Construction of 03 expressway sections were forced to be temporarily halted due to lack of funds, Director General of Road Development Authority – Mr. Sardha Weerakoon has said.
Construction work of the Ruwanpura Expressway, the Dambulla and Kandy sections of the Central Expressway have been halted in this manner.
Speaking to ‘Lankadeepa’, he has said that construction of the Kadawatha – Meerigama section of the Central Expressway is also proceeding at a very slow pace and would commence at a more active pace only after securing the IMF bailout.
