The 33-year-old victim who was shot dead inside a private laboratory in Kottawa has turned out to be the wrong person killed by the shooters.
The victim Mihiran Pathmasiri was a laboratory worker residing in Namal Uyana, Maththegoda.
Police investigations revealed that the shooters killed the laboratory worker thinking that he was a brother of the suspect who hacked to death a man at Sirisara Uyana housing complex in Borella on May 15.
Police said that the laboratory worker and the brother of the man who killed another in Borella have the same appearances
