Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa has stated that the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) and the Samagi Jana Sandanaya will take legal action in support of the compensation programme for the damage caused by the destruction of the X-press Pearl ship.
Speaking in Parliament today (11), he said that letters of demand have been directed to many related institutions initially.
The Opposition Leader said that he notified them to collect the amount of compensation which is limited to US 6.4 billion and to deposit this amount in a separate account in the Treasury for the parties affected by the destruction.
