The Department of Wildlife Conservation has announced that a limited number of roads within yala national park, which were temporarily closed due to heavy rainfall, will be reopened to tourists from today (05).

A spokesperson stated that the roads will be reopened to tourists from 2:00 pm today.

The park had been closed since March 01 to prevent damage to its road system and minimize the environmental impact caused by recent adverse weather conditions. While certain routes will now be accessible, roads that remain vulnerable to further deterioration due to rain will continue to be off-limits to visitors.

The Department of Wildlife Conservation stated that the situation is subject to change based on rainfall received in the park today. Tourists planning to visit yala national park are advised to stay updated on the latest developments.
