Civillians from all walks of life, irrespective of age, ethnicities or religion are joining the site to add their voice and energy to the uprising that is calling on President Gotabaya Rajapaksa and the Rajapaksa clan to resign.

Crowds are thronging to site night and day, even ignoring heavy thunderstorms.

The demonstration site has been renamed by the protestors as 'GotaGoGama' (GotaGo Village).
