‘Port City Chinese Cultural Night’ held to mark Chinese New Year (Pics)

Today (Jan. 29) marks the Chinese New Year.

According to the Chinese lunar calendar, 2025 is the year of the wood snake. The Snake is known for qualities such as grace, intelligence, and intuition.

As Chinese nationals worldwide celebrate the Chinese New Year and the Spring Festival, several celebrations were also held in Sri Lanka last week.

A special delegation comprising 34 members from the Henan Art Troupe and the Sichuan Chef Team has also arrived in Sri Lanka as part of the New Year celebrations organised by several parties including the Chinese embassy in Colombo and the Colombo Port City.

The “Port City Chinese Cultural Night, was held on Jan. 23 as a part of these celebrations.
