Slain journalist Sukirtharajan remembered (Pics)
The 19th commemoration of journalist Subramaniam Sukirtharajan was held at the Oshil Park in Trincomalee on Jan. 24.
Journalist organisations from the North and East as well as from the southern region of the country were also present.
Sukirtharajan was gunned down in the Trincomalee area on 2006 Jan. 24. Aged 36 and a father of two, he was also a social activist at the time of his death.
Following the commemoration, journalists also headed towards the Governor’s Office in Eastern Province to hand over a letter, demanding justice for slain and disappeared journalists.
